The government is currently scheduled to gradually introduce Making Tax Digital (MTD) to income tax self-assessments (ITSA).
From April 2026 those earning £50,000 or above will need to register. From April 2027 the threshold will be set at £30,000. Making Tax Digital requires quarterly submissions.
